“Written on the edge of Madness,” Lauren Davis’ Sivvy, a book of erasure poems from the letters written by Sylvia Plath, is a masterful collection that mesmerizingly captures the desperate spirit and tragic essence of Plath’s posthumous presence. Davis' poems honor Sylvia and, most importantly, craft also a work of erasure art where her own voice comes alive within the beautiful grim word choices of Plath’s epistolary work. ‘The writer in me— / that is where / I live’ from ‘January 22, 1963,’ reflects the magical unification of Davis and Plath into this chapbook that is the perfect addition to the canon of tributes honoring Sivvy. Those who are devotees of Sylvia must devour this masterwork that not only pays homage but crafts the kind of poems that Plath herself would love to experience from beyond.”
